Meet The Team

Sabreen– Office Manager

Sabreen joined Barras Family Dentistry in August of 2022 after moving to Breaux Bridge from Walker, LA. She has many years of experience in both a corporate office and a privately owned practice. She has learned she prefers the family feel that Barras Family Dentistry provides. She aspires to create a positive and comfortable environment for both our patients and the team. She has made it her mission to help others grow and inspire confidence in each and every person she comes in contact with. In her free time, she enjoys weekend getaways with her husband, Matt, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.

Courtney – Dental Hygienist

Courtney is a native of New Iberia, LA. She graduated from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2013. She started working for our practice in 2015 after moving home from Austin, Texas. She enjoys the calm, family-oriented practice that Barras Family Dentistry offers. She loves educating her patients about their oral health, with a focus on preventative dentistry. Courtney enjoys spending time with her growing family in her spare time. She and her husband, Jacques, wed in New Orleans in 2020 and they welcomed a baby boy, Jack, in October of 2022.

Jenna – Dental Hygienist

Jenna attended LSU in Baton Rouge for three years before moving to New Orleans for hygiene school in 2009. She has been back in the Acadiana area and working at Barras Family Dentistry since 2017. Jenna’s ultimate goal is making our patients happy. She is passionate about all things health and enjoys helping her patients. She loves the positive and friendly atmosphere here at Barras Family Dentistry and values the relationships she has established with her patients. Outside of office hours, Jenna enjoys spending time with her family- her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Lauren M.– Dental Hygienist

Lauren is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from University of Lafayette with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations in 2005 and LSU School of Dentistry and University of Lafayette with a Bachelor’s degree in 2012. She is patient-focused, driven to provide a personable experience along with the highest quality of care possible. Lauren enjoys building relationships with her patients and educating them on the importance of their overall oral health. Lauren is excited to have a career that she loves and is grateful to be working with such an amazing team at Barras Family Dentistry. Out of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, physical fitness, and cooking.

Emily– Dental Hygienist

Emily was born and raised in Lafayette, LA. She graduated from the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2019. She has been a dental hygienist for four years and started with Barras Family Dentistry in 2022. She enjoys working with all of her co-workers each day and thinks of them as her “second family”. She enjoys helping people feel comfortable coming to the dentist and educating them on the importance of oral health. In her spare time, Emily enjoys fishing, hunting, and hanging out with her family.

Marilyn– Dental Hygienist

Marilyn was born and raised in New Roads, LA. She proudly graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in 2022 where she received her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. Upon graduating, she joined Barras Family Dentistry and immediately knew her favorite part would be the family atmosphere that the office provides. Marilyn loves to make all of her patients feel welcome while motivating and educating them about oral health. When she is not with her patients, you can find Marilyn either with her family or on the road for her next weekend getaway.

Lindsie– Dental Assistant

Lindsie, who is a Sunset native, recently graduated Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy in July of 2023 and plans on furthering her education to become E.D.D.A. certified. Lindsie moved to Lafayette in 2021 with her fiancé, Baylie, and has relished in the city-life since. She loves making patients see their true potential with their smiles and to educate them about preventative oral health. Lindsie’s proudest accomplishments are her 15 years spent in dance and her fun-filled relationship with Baylie. They both love to travel to adventurous places and spend time with their puppy, Moose. “Barras Family Dentistry allowed my education to flourish while providing a warm, welcoming environment. Shawana– Dental Assistant

Shawana is a native of Crowley, LA. She joined the army soon after graduating from high school in 1998. She brings over 25 years of experience as a dental assistant. She also serves as a dental assistant instructor. Shawana has been with our practice for 10 years. She is very passionate about making a difference in peoples’ lives. She is so grateful to be a part of such an amazing team that values both staff and patients alike. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her fiancée, her two beautiful daughters, and grandson. In her spare time, she enjoys physical fitness, watching football and shopping.

Hallie– Dental Assistant

Hallie is a native of Arnaudville, LA. In 2017, she completed her Dental Assisting Certificate at Acadiana Area Career College. She then completed her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certificate with LSU School of Dentistry. She has been part of Barras Family Dentistry since 2021. She is passionate about making all of her patients leave our office with a beautiful smile. Hallie loves that this practice feels like family, with her team members and her patients. Outside of the office Hallie loves to spend time with her husband, Seth, and their beautiful daughter, Ariella. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping and watching LSU baseball.

Morgan– Insurance Coordinator

Morgan is a native of Maurice, LA. She brings over 10 years of experience in a professional office setting-5 of which were in the dental field. She started her career as a dental assistant in 2011 before beginning to focus on Insurance Management in 2018. She is very passionate about making a difference in peoples’ lives. She enjoys being a part of a team who values both staff and patients above all else. Outside of the office, she enjoys deer hunting, fishing, shopping, home projects, cooking, and any chance she has to spend time with her friends and family.

Maddie– Patient Care Coordinator

Maddie is a Rayne, LA native and joined our team in February of 2023. She has been in dentistry for over 10 years and is multi-skilled in both chairside assisting and office administration. With an in-depth knowledge of the dental field, she is able to ensure that our patients are receiving the best care possible. Maddie loves what she does whole heartedly and is committed to working with our patients to help them better understand the treatment they need and desire, while ensuring that they are comfortable. She truly enjoys getting to know each and every patient. Maddie enjoys the calm and positive atmosphere here at Barras Family Dentistry and is extremely grateful to be a part of a team who values both staff and patients. Out of the office, Maddie enjoys spending time with her husband, her labradoodle, and her big family. She enjoys going to Red’s Gym, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Lauren H.– Scheduling Coordinator

Lauren was born and raised in Berwick, LA. She started her dental career as a dental assistant 2 years ago. Lauren was originally hired to serve as a dental assistant, but with her bubbly personality we knew we needed her at our front desk. Lauren enjoys interacting and building relationships with our patients. Lauren is one of 10 children. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, shopping, and spending time with her husband. She looks forward to welcoming her first child in November 2023.

Latoya– Administrative Assistant

Latoya has been working in the dental field for 6 years. She has experienced many different rolls within the dental field including patient coordinator, dental assistant, and now administrative assistant. She joined our team in November of 2022. She most enjoys greeting our amazing patients, getting to know each of them on a personal level, and providing assistance in any way possible to ensure our patients have the best experience. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling.
